I had my first chemo last Friday and after 25 years of being a gym rat went ahead to my Saturday Spinning class (still buzzed from the steroids) with the best spinning teacher in Philly, Anthony, and then headed to Franklin Mills for the x-mas stuff. And then on Sunday headed straight back to the gym for weights and when I went down to the floor for abs, it was all over. Made it out of there, into the car and all the way to Chestnut Hill before I had to pull over and throw up. Just glad no one noticed and I was not on the Schuykill. It was horizontal for me for the next two days and have been working my way back to upright every day since. I have to face the fact, as does Fawn, that the drugs and the disease are more powerful than any book or two months of reading up on what to expect can ever prepare you for. Coming to work nauseated as ever and trying to carry on normally is humiliating and debilitating. At least there is chicken soup. And I think maybe some good cheese grits will work as well. One thing I want to know is where the research comes from that regular exercise prevents cancer? Does anyone know about this? Will I actually be able to do weights or spin or step through this? Am I being ridiculous to want to?Libertyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798937676280457881noreply@blogger.com
